This Cusco cooking class lunch experience is designed for those who don’t have much time but would like to learn about and sample the best of Peru’s cuisine.
During 1.5 hours each guest will learn about the history of Peruvian gastronomy and kitchen concepts, prepare a tropical beverage, and enjoy two of Peru’s most emblematic dishes: ceviche and lomo saltado.
- Step 1: Getting into Peruvian Cuisine (10 Minutes)
Our chef will provide an introduction to Peruvian culinary culture by sharing information about its history, biodiversity, and geography.
- Step 2: Ceviche Hands-On (30 Minutes)
The first dish we prepare will be Peruvian ceviche where we mix fresh fish with a variety of other ingredients to make this plate both unique and unforgettable. This activity is 100% participatory.
- Step 3: A Moment of Passion (15 Minutes)
Here we will make a drink out of maracuyá, one of Peru’s many varieties of passion fruit. This activity is 100% participatory.
- Step 4: Lomo Saltado Cooking Experience (30 Minutes)
After receiving both instructions and a demonstration from our chef, all participants will prepare their own Lomo Saltado by sauteing their meal in the wok. This activity is 100% participatory.
- The class finishes at 1:30PM with the lunch (Lomo Saltado) that each guest prepared for themselves.
